Feierôwend!

“No der Schicht as virun der Schicht!”

Ferroforum kicked off summer with a tribute to the “Grenz”, the hot-spot of the popular balls and celebrations during the Glorious Thirty.

From 4 p.m. the central workshop opened its doors to the public to exchange stories and good memories around a “Kaffi, Kippchen an Kuch”. Luciano Pagliarini and his orchestra animated the dance floor specially installed for the occasion.

At sundown, the Ferroforum team proposed a Notturna Ferruginosa with iron and fire actions. The Retoplatinodisco by the Loon Djs had the workshop resound until late. Fries and beers as on the border to regain strength before the next lap …. T’ass Feierôwend!

Feierôwend! was the opportunity to present a book project, the fruit of a collaboration between Ferroforum and Laura Steil, researcher at the C2DH (University of Luxembourg). As part of the Popkult60 project (FNR/DFG), she is interested in party, dance and music in the steel Luxembourg in the 1950s through to the 70s.
As a second work published by Ferroforum, “Feieren: Fester, Musek An Danz Am Minett” will focus on the culture and memory of popular balls, dances and music in southern Luxembourg. The release of the book is scheduled for December 2023.

We continue to collect testimonies and documents, contact us if you want to contribute!
