To open the season, FerroForum invited to the 3rd edition of their traditional Workers’ Fair on Saturday 4 May.
The team had put together a diverse and varied programme in the tradition of the fairs of the early 20th century, offering a lively and happy day out for the whole family:
– Traditional games revisited FerroForum-style
– The SPILL MOL association joined us with their array of highly entertaining wooden tabletop games.
– In the FerroMaton corner, the public had the opportunity to try on original factory costumes and capture the moment on film.
– A shooting range run by the NEY family attracted young and old alike to have a good look and win traditional fairground souvenirs.
– Our member Tammy Fonck showed us how the ‘Kamelleschmelz ©’ works, a simplified and fun miniature steelworks created by artist Trixi Weis, which makes sweets instead of steel.
– Joe del Toe, the worker clown, entertained the gallery with his antics and funny little magic tricks.
– The draw for our Grande Tombola Ferrugineuse was the eagerly-awaited moment to win surprising original artefacts, beers, magnets and books.
De Spillmann on his barrel organ and Denys Gigot on accordion provided musical entertainment throughout the afternoon, before concerts by the ‘Biergarbechter-Musék’ from Esch-sur-Alzette, and to round things off, the ‘Bergkapelle St. Ingbert’.
The numerous visitors were clearly pleased to be able to spend a rainy Saturday in the shelter of our central workshop!
